We have been watching with interest Darryl’s amazing recovery and feel somewhat remiss that we have taken so long to let you know how much we have been thinking of you all. We will never forget how you appeared as an angel Darryl on the night when Roger was taken to hospital by ambulance when we were living at Coopers Beach. Your kindness at that time we will never forget. Your tenacity over the past few months is a credit to you. Stick with it!

You are an amazing father Mike, and an inspiration to us all. But behind a good man is always a good woman – that is you Catherine!

Will be thinking of you all tomorrow as Darryl faces more surgery and trust everything goes well.

Hi to you too Brenna – we don’t forget you!

Well five months ago we and many other strangers and friends sent our positive thoughts to Darryl to recover. This wednesday, again we will be sending positive vibes and be thinking of you all. We have come to look at this site every Monday morning and almost feel we know some of the regular writers.
Mike I hope you put all this into a book one day .The amount of Father – son love is inspiring.
Spent the weekend at Coopers beach and hope to see you both walking along it soon.

It’s so good to read of the self-motivation that wells up out of the incredible young man Darryl is. I feel shamed sometimes, about how easily I have given up or put something off.

The power of two is stunning when, as a stranger, I read through the progress made so far. Yes, it comes from inside Darryl but where you two begin and end, in regards to each other, is difficult to see. Mike as the example, Darryl with his own drive and determination … then there’s the dad who refuses to give up and relies on his instincts and an uncanny sense of what’s possible, what’s wrong, what’s needed and there’s Darryl pursuing successes and milestones in ways that astound me.

Darryl who accepts nothing less than a pursuit of excellence from himself but where did he see that example. I think you are pushing each other into new growth and soon … well, I do believe your family has two of the mightiest trees of the forest standing there in its midst. And that’s without knowing what your silent partners have done, and I imagine that’s plenty too.

I come here to delight in Darryl’s progress, to read of what’s possible on a journey back from the brink, to see self-discipline and motivation at its extraordinary best, and I come back to wish you all well.

Good luck with the surgery, and I look forward to reading of how you ‘knocked this buggar off’, to misquote Ed Hillary.
